Yoga for Strength with Carolina

Yoga for Strength with Carolina Vivas

If you're not breathing deeply in yoga...that it's not yoga. When taking a challenging vinyasa yoga class, it's important to move at a pace where the breath is deep and steady throughout your practice. This yoga for strength vinyasa class with Carolina will strengthen the entire body from head to toe. Practice this class often until you are able to maintain the flow of the breath while moving through a series of arm balances, side planks, deep binds and tricky transitions.

A great yoga class should create equal parts strength and flexibility. Carolina is a pro at providing a sequence and rhythm that helps to support this balance. It's not just about becoming more flexible - we want to get stronger all over as well. Combining a variety of planks, side planks and arm balances with other core and upper body moves requires that the body operates as an integrated whole fueled by the strength in the center of the body. Her transitions between postures demands that the mind is fully aware and present to fluidly and successfully flow from one place to the next. This yoga for strength class provides the kind of functional movement and attention that feeds into how we hold our bodies in daily life. Stay lifted tall with a strong spine and core without having to consciously command yourself to "stand up straight." It will just happen naturally. If at first this class is too much, don't feel like you have to do everything! Take your time, do what you can and only do the class at a pace that you are able to maintain a deep, steady breath through the nose. Take breaks, rest in child's pose and skip vinyasa. Before you know it, if you keep practicing with Carolina, you will be breathing and flowing no problem through her fantastically challenging and creative yoga for strength classes.
