Amanda’s ultra-smooth vinyasa style is designed to tone the body, promote greater flexibility and to cultivate a connection with the breath. She expertly teaches all levels of practitioners and has developed a strong instinct for safely challenging her students and giving them exactly what they need. Integrating her study of Anusara, Vinyasa, and Thai Massage, her classes are full of creative sequencing, expert adjustments, and great music. Her philosophy is simple: yoga teaches us to be present, and in this presence is where peace and contentment are found. Integrating a yoga practice into our day will greatly improve our quality of life.
Amanda has had diverse and extensive training in both yoga and bodywork. After graduating with a BS in psychology from Michigan State University and training at the Center for Yoga in Los Angeles, she began teaching at Harmony Yoga in 2001. She went on to complete two more Vinyasa Yoga teacher trainings with Chappy Foote and Shiva Rea. After moving to San Diego in 2004 her interest in bodywork and therapeutics led her to The International Professional School of Bodywork where she received her HHP with an emphasis in Thai Massage. She simultaneously finished a two-year program with Larry Payne’s Yoga Rx Program at Loyola Marymount University. She is an E-RYT 500, a nationally certified massage therapist, and owner of Buddhi Yoga in La Jolla, California.
